You Must Exfoliate!

The very important thing that many people tend to forget, is to exfoliate before the spray tanning appointment. To exfoliate is to remove dead skin cells and impurities on the surface that will get your skin in the best condition for the spray tan. Mechanical exfoliation can be done using sugar, salt crystals, crushed seeds, loofah etc. Consider buying a product that will aid in the removal of dry skin (from any grocery or drug store); just make sure it does not contain oils (examples: shower gels with microbeads or St. Ives Apricot Body Scrub). Exfoliating the body with a non-oily scrub is the best way to go. Any products like shaving cream or scrubs with an oily residue are not suggested. Scrub your entire body with the exfoliator product and loofah.
You can even add your shower gel with the loofah too!
Removing any dead cells and body oils will help the sunless tanner penetrate your skin and give you the best results. Exfoliation will remove dead skin that would otherwise flake off and helps to promote even coverage and lengthen the duration of your tan. When you exfoliate, pay particular attention to the lower half of your legs, knees, ankles, top of feet, toes, elbows and knuckles.
